Personal experiences and events that helped to shape my world and writing style.

What's your goal as a writer? Where do you see yourself in your craft by the next 10 years?  Features are my favorite to write, both comedy and drama. In 10 years, I'll probably be writing and illustrating books for children.

What's your background?  Born in New Orleans, Louisiana USA. I'm currently located in London. My parents were mestizo/parda (indigenous people of The Americas, later mixed with Europeans), from British Honduras and the Republic of Honduras in Central America. They moved to the US before my brothers and I were born. My parents were children during the Great Depression (that negatively impacted the world's economy, but not the holdings of those who caused it). From them, I was taught to do my best, in whatever - nothing half-ass.

What keeps you interested in media arts? When I worked as a commercial interior designer, I created many "realities" in my head, that eventually manifested in this 3-D world. Which, was also limited by the width, height, and depth, of this 3-D world. But, on-set the motivational entity of "energy," plus everyone involved, working towards a single goal that's temporary (the film set) and permanent (the production), makes everything - electrifying and magical, in the moment. And at the same, everlasting - in the cloud. Where it comes from in the first place. There are no boundaries to what can be created and manifested in the digital world.

What was your first film experience? Acting a bit part of a scene ( that got deleted) with master actor Anthony Hopkins in the film, 360. It bombed, even with the luscious bonus of Jude Law (though he wasn't on this set) and the brilliant, Rachel Weisz. Plus, the Oscar-Winning talents of Peter Morgan writing the script and Fernando Meirelles directing it.

In New Orleans, I'd passed by many location sets, especially since I worked mostly in the French Quarter (the oldest part of the city and its original center). One of my interiors projects (The LA State Supreme Court) was later used as the main location set, of a hit film, Runaway Jury. But, 360 was my very first time on a film set of any kind. I played a flight attendant (I was stood in the same place 4 hours, by the escalator to direct foot traffic my feet were killing me. I smiled so damn much, my face ached) and the scene I was in didn't get done until the end of the day. So I had all that time to worry. During the rehearsal for it, I got called aside to get micked-up and was too far away to hear the AD's directions. So when I took my position, I was clueless and my fellow flight attendants weren't at all helpful. Forgetting I was switched "on," I said, "I don't know what the hell I'm supposed to do." Someone sent another AD to talk me through. Thing is, he had such a thick Scottish brogue - I was like, "What?!" (to myself, of course). So I just nodded and said, "OK. Got it!" Then, I asked the passengers (SAs) across the counter, if they understood the AD guy. Of, course nobody did. They all went on to say where they all were from like British people typically do - with all these different accents on this little island, giant of a country. Then Sir Anthony Hopkins entered, took his position and flashed those piercing bright blue peepers of his and smiled and said, "You'll be fine. (Beat) I saw you yesterday by the escalator smiling." What could I say but, "Thank you. I'll try my best." (knees knocking). Meirelles actually directed me in the scene with Hopkins. (Of course, he needed no direction at all.) It was ALL an absolute thrill! My first time out. From then on, I was hooked on film.

What is it like, working on a cruise ship? I admit it. I worked on a cruise ship, as a portrait photographer for one-and-a-half years. (Yeah, I was one of those pesky photographers that hound the shit out of you whilst on holiday. Look, I had quotas to meet every time I picked up that camera). Although the high seas make up more of this planet than land, the experience of time and space are totally different living at sea than on terra firma. Even more so below deck, where the crew spends downtime. Although connected to the rest of the world via satellite and telephone, the experience of events on this planet is totally different, living and working onboard. It's a warped sense of time, another dimension within this third dimension.

And there's this different sort of mindset and preoccupation with getting from one place to another and another, sticking to schedules is everything. The ship (and you) are never entirely in one place physically. I guess the best way to put it is, you are in a state of continuous motion, carried along by the water, which is always in a state of flux. I now have a profound respect for people that have to and do send their lives as mariners (as my father and his ancestors did).  The best part of working on-board was seeing the vastness of the water, the skies, uninterrupted panoramic coastal views, and animals, in their natural habitats as a passerby to their world. They're some scenes on this planet where you need to stay at a distance to truly appreciate them.

What guides you morally? In the words of Lenny Bruce (famous, US comedian) "People are leaving the churches and finding God. If they choose to)."  I use to belong to a religious cult, Jehovah's Witness, baptised 25 years. (That explains loads about where I came from, mentally and morally). Jehovah's Witnesses are lovely people. But their religion has zero-tolerance for spiritual, moral or sexual practices outside of their rules. And no real understanding or empathy for the duality of human nature, which is set by the laws of the universe. Since leaving the JW.org (and to some extent whilst I was a member. The cult never truly set well with me) Nevertheless, I'm guided by my intuition and instincts. And motivated by a heart that tries to act in harmony with my perception of love, truth, and honesty. If I don't follow these standards I feel that I have wronged my true-self most of all and others.

What personal challenges and tragedies have you experienced?Witnessed and lived through the greatest urban disaster in the US, Hurricane Katrina and then Rita (the entire southern portion of Louisiana was devastated) and their aftermath. From which I learnt the extent to which federal, state, and local governments are interested in the welfare of their constituents. Result: 0.  These corporations and their political puppets are only interested in profits, not losses or the lost. That were over 1,833 humans and countless animals and over 15,000,000 losses of homes, jobs, communities, their way of life, and emotional well-being, during and thereafter.

Been carjacked (and it wasn't even my car, it was my mother's). "Life is a box of chocolates, you never know what your gonna get." Cause, never in my wildest dreams was I expecting that one. Since then, I'm always leery of total strangers that approach me, no matter how unassuming they seem. However, since living in London I'm always approaching total strangers asking them for directions (London is way beyond Google Maps) with this confused and angry look on my face  (I hate to experience being lost). My American accent mostly puts folks at ease. Good thing I'm not a criminal, cause with a trusted face and a pleasant voice (plus, a carefully concealed handgun) your car is literally - gone in less than 30 seconds.

I successfully recovered from what is usually a very painful and chronic illness that leaves most sufferers addicted to opiates and a lifetime of depression (IC, interstitial cystitis). I learnt that there is no-thing that cannot be overcome with determination.

What was the most amazing thing you've experienced, till now? I drove to the summit of Haleakala in the middle of the night (a 2-hour uphill journey) twice, to greet the dawn with a chant by native park rangers thanking our saviour (the Sun, AKA Apollo, et al) for returning to and chasing away the spell of darkness; a thrilling and deeply spiritual experience (hope it wasn't just the altitude - at 9,000 ft). The view is breathtaking. By mid-morning the entire place is blanketed in dense clouds and disappears from sight, you'd never know it even existed.

Landed (via helicopter) on top of Mount Monroe and its glacier, in Alaska. At that altitude, I'd swear I was on the Moon (not a blade of grass to be found, only mounds of rocks everywhere). If it weren't for the fact that I was stood, on a 100-year-old, 1000 meter thick, slab of ice. Except for areas where you could look beneath your feet and see streams of water flowing. PURE water up there; never tasted so good (including nano-particles, of course)!

What do you think is wrong with the way things are run on this planet? And what do you do, to personally affect it for the better? This is my favourite bit, so I saved it for the penultimate. We are and have been for ages, experiencing a time of great dis-balance on Earth. I'm an anarchist (please don't go by the misconceived popular use of the word). Humans do not need mind control (govern - ment) in order to live together in prosperity. Humans by nature, are mostly good and caring. It's deception, manipulation, situation, and circumstances that have altered our thinking and behaviour on a negatively skewed path of harm and destruction. "The symbol of the House of El means hope. Embodied within that hope is the fundamental belief, the potential of every person to be a force for good" - Jor-El (Superman, 1978. There's a great deal of symbolism and occult knowledge in many films). The symbol that Superman wore, isn't the "S." It's the sun star of this planet (the past and the present one, dual meaning). Its daily re-birth (sunrise), death (nighttime) from our perspective, as well as its beneficial effects on us and this planet, shows us that despite our times of "light/positive" and "darkness/negative" we can unify ourselves together, to emit "rays," (Ra) forces of perpetual energy (El-ectricity). ALL is energy, which cannot manifest itself without the universal (one-verse) balance of positivity and negativity that create harmony.

I'm wholeheartedly and totally involved in the practice and/or support of the following fields: free worlding, veganism, holistic medicine and diet, bio and fractal architecture/design based on the principles of sacred geometry, 0-point energy, mindfulness, conservation, and reuse, sustainability, permaculture, ubuntu (I am because of who we all are), social enterprise/time banking, yoga, meditation, tarot, palmistry, alchemy, mysticism, paganism (adoration of nature and its cycles), unadulterated astrology, word magick, (word usage that is not supporting spell-binding), occult (hidden knowledge/perception, in commerce, politics, religion, and our numerical system), astronomy, off-planet intelligent life, inter-dimensional beings. The existence of other dimensions, altered dimensions, and parallel existence. The story of hybrid genetic manipulation of humans, fringe science, self-determination, and establishing personal sovereignty. We are spirit persons of infinite possibility and energy, fulfilling a material existence on Earth during this current reincarnation. As true spirits, we have no gender. Therefore, when we manifest as beings on this planet, our gender makes absolutely no difference nor does it matter.

Daily, my goal is to re-educate myself in all the fields of the school of syncretism (all sciences together). The basis for the education of the ancient mystery schools, which were poo-pooed and eventually abolished by the religious/political systems of their times. Some of these gnostics were executed for their knowledge and wisdom. Most of the tribes of the indigenous people throughout our world, even now have been mocked, persecuted, and all but genocided because they collectively uphold these truths, in integrity. One of my aspirations is to ultimately use this wisdom to help and heal others, on their own path to higher consciousness and enlightenment.

If you could live in one place, where would it be? In a conscious community of people that share the same love and unity for the prosperity of this planet and all species on it. People that use their energy, resources, skills, and talents to spread this wisdom throughout our world. Who's motto is: Do no harm. Take no shit.
