Secret Santa

(1-act, office comedy)

Don't you just love the holidays?

Tiffany is 19 and just finished college. She's all bright-eyed and bushing tailed, working at her new job, as a processing clerk. She's the newbie at Acme Movers & Shakers in Central London, a small door-to-door white van courier, and package delivery service company. She just started a few months before Christmas.  It's mid-morning a few hours before the "exchange." She has overheard other colleagues talking about their gift shopping and she's puzzled.  She draws Tom's name, a male colleague, that is desperately trying to chat her up (whom she's trying not to be interested in) a book as a Christmas present only to realise that at this office, they only give gag gifts as presents. She queries Grace (the colleague she shares a cubicle with) about what is really going on with, Secret Santa.

Hostile Life

(drama/comedy, 2-act play, present day. Based on personal events of living in London's hostels).

Living in London has become so expensive. Life in a houseshare with total strangers is a drama box.  Hostels are cheap, but the residents can be anyone from a felon, a fugitive, a loose cannon ready to explode, a "meat" market, and a load of obnoxious "Karen's" looking for the cheapest holiday they can find. This play is an insight into the lives of Londoners who, for one reason are another must cope with living a transient lifestyle. Or, for those that are homeless, it's a haven from the streets. For tourists, it's an experience of a "world" that very few visitors get to know first hand. It can give audiences a view of a London that most haven't seen, a piece of knowledge, and hopefully an understanding of the situations that lead to poverty and substance abuse. And the illogical bureaucratic reasons that cause displacement of individuals and families that are forced to live a life on the fringes of society.
