The talent of Stephen Burrows. One of America's few black, internationally acclaimed, top award-winning, fashion designers, that have etched their mark in the world of garment art and haute couture, since the '70s. Of his contemporaries, De La Renta, Saint Laurent, Ungaro, Cardin, and Bohan have all been immortalised in film at least once. Halston, very well done twice, plus a limited series. But, where's the inclusion and tribute to a pioneering legend that not only dresses the rich, famous, and beautiful - but makes fashion available to the masses. Please, let's do this before he leaves this planet as a living cultural legend. Show a brother some love.

My personal connection to the genius of Stephen Burrows is not only from my years working in fashion (as a model and a dressmaker). But my mom and aunt (who worked from home as professional dressmakers, in Spanish, modistas), regularly attended the traveling Ebony Fashion Fair shows that stopped at Dillard University, where the event was showcased. (Our house was a 15-minute walk from the campus. Back in them days, people walked around the neighborhood.) The itinerant schedule was employed to expose a greater audience of women of color to high fashion, that were living in areas, not as accessible to high fashion by the contributing designers. And to raise funds for worthy causes within the community. Their attendance at the shows piqued my interest in fashion from a very early age. From my teens to my 40s, 99% of my wardrobe was hand-crafted to Vogue Patterns "Designer Label" standards. I never knew what it was like to feel a scratchy label on the neck of my dressy and smart garments.

Eter

(altered consciousness, sci-fi, historical)  A mainstream scientist working in telecommunications, doubts her educated and calculated beliefs in traditional theories after she recounts that she received a phone call from a dear friend just before he died tragically. A call, that was NEVER made by her friend. She then investigates fringe science, 18th -century through 20th-century mainstream scientists, etheric communication scientists and their concepts, and undergoes esoteric practices and rituals to find out the nature of Earth and all life (past and present) upon it. She then realizes that she must change to reflect and honour her true self.

Slytherin

(paranormal) A family visits their ancestral home in eastern Europe after the death of a close relative. During the trip, their young daughter tells them of a strange experience whilst going to a bombed and abandoned area of the village (with her much older cousins), where she encountered a homeless man living in a dilapidated building. She's only believed by a long-time friend of their deceased relative. On the way back home, the family visits Manhattan and Ground Zero, where she again has a strange experience, which the parents again dismiss as make-believe. Upon returning home angels, fairies, ghosts, and strange entities regularly visit her whilst she's alone and in her bedroom before she sleeps. Again, she's not believed by her parents, until they happen to meet a parapsychologist who has informal sessions with her and acknowledges that the child's experiences during her trance-like state are very real. After her parents are accepting of the doctor's diagnosis, the girl allows them to "see" these entities.
